Ever since he was a child, Gehrman was quite strange compared to his peers. He never played with other children his age, viewing them as 'boring' and 'ignorant'. He spent most of his time inside, engulging in rather sinister activities. Although finding most activities not worth his time, he found a hobby in learning about the biology around him. He would study book about the human bodies, aswell as sometimes even going so far as dissecting simple animals. And oh, his curiosity grew with each thing he studied. First it were frogs, then small birds, but eventually he went bigger. Cats, sheep, dogs, foxes, everything he could get his hands on. He didn't understand why, but the moments he spent doing this were always the ones he felt truly happy.
In his pre teen years, he unwillingly got introduced to vampires and vampire hunting by his father and his colleagues. Gehrman found the concept to be intriguing as he always found vampires to be incredibly fascinating. He became a trainee and graduated with the young age of 17.
He has been working for the Catholic Hunters Inquisition (aka katholische Jägersinquisition / KJ) ever since then and became one of its leaders after years of hard work and proving his worth. Aside from his job as a hunter, he's mostly spending his time working as a scientist.
