Rules
Last updated August 10, 2026
Read these before you join. Breaking them gets you removed.
18+ only
You must be 18 or older to be here. See Discord rule 1.
These apply everywhere, including during games.
General
- 18+ only server. This server is only for those 18 or older. It does not matter if you are turning 18 soon, please wait until your birthday. If you suspect someone is underage, please reach out via our ticket system.
- Do not discriminate against others. Under no circumstances will racism, bigotry, homophobia, transphobia, etc. be accepted here.
- Bullying is not permitted. Do not bully, discriminate against, nor otherwise harass another server member. Furthermore do not exploit the report system. Spamming reports against one individual may be viewed as bullying unless there is sufficient justification for each report.
- Language. This server is primarily English speaking, but small messages are permitted in other languages. Please try not to go into full conversations. Additionally, slurs and other derogatory language are not allowed, even if reclaimed.
Content
- Zero GenAI tolerated. Purposeful sharing of GenAI content, including but not limited to AI photos, gifs, videos, or messages, are not permitted. Please be careful with the content you share.
- Credit your artists. When sharing any work of art wherein the artist is not explicitly known or stated within the piece, we encourage you to credit them verbally.
- Sensitive content. Fictional gore and blood can be sent with an added trigger warning and spoiler tag. Real images of these things will never be acceptable and will result in an immediate ban.
- NSFW content. NSFW is not permitted, even if this is an 18+ space. Please refrain from unnecessary comments, NSFW content, and general innuendos. Light jokes are allowed, but if someone is uncomfortable, please stop immediately. SFW nudity is permitted with a spoiler tag and warning.
For one-session games. Series games have their own rules.
General rules
Behavior
- Server rules. Please keep all of our server rules in mind, as they still apply to oneshots.
- Fun and enjoyment is priority. If someone is uncomfortable or upset, then stop and talk things through with them. Winning is not the point of these games; having fun is. If you need to speak to someone but aren't sure how, you may reach out to an admin to assist you.
- Story. Do not metagame, meaning using knowledge from outside the game to your advantage. Respect people's decisions and character arcs as much as possible, and ensure that you are not interrupting anything serious with silly shenanigans.
- Language. This server is primarily English speaking, but having characters speak in other languages is a fun twist. Do understand that we can't promise you will be understood if you talk in another language, but it is not prohibited.
Hosting
- Time management. Oneshots should aim to be 4 to 5 hours long. If they are expected to be longer, make it known beforehand so that players know what they are getting into.
- Breaks. Oneshots will have a required break every 2 hours or so to ensure the wellbeing of all players. These breaks should be 10 to 15 minutes long at minimum.
- Abuse of power. For admins, don't abuse your authority or the commands. Sometimes admins may intervene, but do not give yourself or others deliberate advantage over others.
- Commands. Speaking of commands, do not use them unless absolutely necessary. If you are not actively doing admin work, assisting with a story beat, or assisting a player, you should not be messing with the commands behind the scenes.
Tryharding
- Diamonds. Diamond armor and weapons are not permitted under any circumstances. Diamond tools are allowed, and may be used for PVE, meaning against non-player enemies.
- Mining limits. Due to prior experiences, all players are limited to 30 minutes of mining time to prevent dragging on the story. It is preferred that you bring someone with you to have social interactions as well. If you are completely stuck underground, you may message an admin for assistance with escape.
- Silver and beacons. Unless your character is particularly knowledgeable on the subject, they should not know that vampires are here, nor that silver blocks work against them. Beyond that, please do not place silver within 6 blocks of any given beacon, in all directions. Always leave at least one exit to the beacon in question.
- Spawn camping. Do not wait at any spawn point, regardless of your side, for your enemy to respawn to kill them again. If they respawn near you, give a head start for them to run.
Houses
- What counts. A home is a location with 4 walls, a roof, and a door. However, if you are basing in the same location as a tome or a beacon, your house will not be safe from unwanted visitors; if they cannot get to it without entering your home, your home is a public space.
- Silver, part 2. Please have no more than 2 silver blocks placed on your property at any given time.
- Invitations. When human, you do not need an invitation to enter, though it would be respectful. When a vampire, invitations as a human do not carry over. Statements such as "You can enter if you're human" can be accepted either way by vampires, as specifications and conditions cannot be enforced. It is simply taken as "you can enter". If you live in the location in question, you can enter and exit freely.
- Griefing. Please do not burn down or destroy homes unless the final human or humans have been inside for more than five minutes. Do not destroy farms. If you kill someone's animals, leave at least 4.
Vampire rules
These apply to vampires. The numbering starts again here.
Starters
- Opt-in. Starters are typically opt-in. If you do not want to be a vampire, but have found yourself as one at the start anyway, please contact an admin.
- The reveal. In a typical series, vampires don't really want to be revealed immediately. However, oneshots are on a time crunch, and thus there are no limits to revealing yourself at a certain time and such.
- Aggression. If you are opting in to be a starter vampire, it is presumed that you will be an aggressive party. Playing things completely passive, while valid in a full game, drags out oneshots. We encourage you to let loose and be unhinged.
- Turns. Depending on the planned length of the oneshot and the player counts, you should aim to turn a good amount of people before the first break. By no means the majority, but enough to get the ball rolling and start conflict.
Rulebook
- Force turns. Forcibly turning people is encouraged, especially in the oneshot setting. By playing these games, you should understand that risk.
- Permission to enter. Vampires who have been turned will need permission to enter homes. See general rule 15 for the specifics.
- Deaths and levels. In our typical oneshots, you will be able to regain levels one hour after dying from PVP, thirty minutes after dying from natural causes, or immediately if you have been caught in a glitch. Please inform admins when these things are happening, it is not built into the mechanics.
- Killing animals. As stated in general rule 16, leave at least 4 of each animal if you are killing from people's farms. Additionally, you are not permitted to kill pets unless they are posing an active threat, for example someone sicking wolves on you.
For multi-session games.
No series is currently running
Masquerade of Coven is currently hosting oneshots only. Series games run differently, so their rules will be published here before the next series is announced. Watch the Discord for future announcements.
